One thing I do know is that no matter how far we come it almost always seems like we are going to be fighting this fight. People still wonder who killed Jesus , yet so few care about who killed womans rights in all its forms before mans saviour even came along. Keep fighting girls, this is a fight that is thousands of years old and I just hope it wont be thousands of years before we are given the god damned equality we deserve.

Bob I really appreciate your review of "Going Rogue". I got it for my birthday in December and anxiously started reading it. I followed Sarah Palin closely during the campaign, and she was really the only reason I even got excited at this presidential election. Never having been one to follow much in politics, she brought it all home for me, and I think for millions of women like me: those of us who have our families at the heart of our homes. Those of us who don't really understand the political "game playing" that goes on, and those of us who just want our kids to have a fair shake in life. She is a "real woman, a real mom". What you see is what you get, what's not to understand or figure out about that? Her ability to call it like it is, and fight like a bulldog for what is right in a man's world is really and truly the stuff that us mom's are made of. I identified with her!

So it was with great anticipation that I began to read her book. I was interested in her life, her family, her political history, and finding out what really happened behind closed doors during the Presidential campaign. Why I was hearing so many conflicting stories? I also felt that as a woman who had chosen life for her Down's Syndrome baby, Trig, and knowing that she supported pregnancy resource centers, it was just one more reason I could relate to her.

It was a great book, I loved it and completely enjoyed reading it. I have to admit, though, that I am relieved to read your review and know that I am not the only one who felt there was something missing; Jesus Christ. It was as though I kept waiting, thinking "Ok, here it comes" and it never came. Where was the rest of the story of her "conscious decision to put her life in her Creator's hands", more details, please? I mean, we got plenty of scoop about other, less life-impacting events. But not this one? Why? Then again at the end of the book I felt it was more of a tribute, almost, to God. Maybe her way of an altar call as you say, but to me it seemed more of a tribute so as not to leave Him out.

I am, I must say, disappointed. While I certainly did not have my faith in Sarah Palin like I have my faith in God, I was hoping against all odds that she was, or would be, more bold in her faith-if her faith in Jesus Christ is truly the Rock on which she stands. I wanted more than what I got. Human nature, I suppose?

Rev. Bryan, Excellent post. I enjoyed your insights. Yes, anyone in the public is destined for rough treatment. Sarah Palin had more than her share of it. I personally find her perhaps more qualified for the VP than some do, though, as I say, I'm no apologist for her. Very interesting point you made about criticizing PC but then choosing the PC route. Thanks. Bob
