Guest Post by Dr. Brent Aucoin,
President of Faith Bible Seminary

As God continues to bless Faith Bible Seminary with ongoing growth and ministry impact, we have become increasingly aware of our need for additional executive leadership team members. In that light, I am pleased to announce our hiring, effective January 1, 2018, of Dr. Bob Kellemen as our Vice President of Strategic Development and Academic Dean.

Dr. Kellemen comes to us with over three-decades of ministry experience, including over two-decades of higher education experience. Dr. Kellemen has served in three pastoral ministries for over a dozen years, including his current role which he will continue in as Pastor of Counseling Ministries at Bethel Church in Northwest Indiana. Bob also served as VP of Institutional Development and Chair of the Biblical Counseling and Equipping Department at Crossroads Bible College in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to that, for 17 years, Dr. Kellemen launched and led the MA in Christian Counseling and Discipleship department at Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland.

In addition to his higher education and pastoral ministry experience, Dr. Kellemen brings great gifts and experience as an executive leader. Bob served for 6 years as the founding Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. And he is the Founder and CEO of RPM Ministries, through which Bob speaks, writes, and consults on topics related to biblical counseling, Christian living, and local church ministry.

Dr. Kellemen is well-known in biblical counseling circles. He speaks at national conferences for many organizations, including ACBC, CCEF, ABC, and Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries. Additionally, Bob has authored 14 books (with 2 more on the way in 2018), including Gospel-Centered Counseling, Gospel Conversations, and Counseling Under the Cross: How Martin Luther Applied the Gospel to Daily Life.

Bob is no stranger to Faith Bible Seminary, as he has been an adjunct professor for us for over half-a-decade. Students frequently provide the feedback that his Biblical Counseling Lab course is life-and-ministry-changing.

Dr. Kellemen shared that:

“I’m thrilled to join Pastor Steve Viars, President Brent Aucoin, and the rest of the Faith Bible Seminary team. I have always been impressed with the creative, unique ways that FBS embeds students in the local church and engages students with the local community. It is a powerful blend of academic excellence, ministry preparation, and kingdom impact.”

Bob continued:

“In my role as VP of Strategic Development, I’ll work alongside the FBS team to continue to expand the impact of our M.Div. program and of our online MA in Biblical Counseling program. We’re looking not only at growth in numbers, but also at growth in locations where M.Div. students can receive our training while remaining embedded in their local church, and at growth in partnering local churches. And we want to continue to expand our international outreach. One of my greatest joys in teaching the BC lab class for FBS is the opportunity to equip international students who return to their home countries to counsel and equip God’s people. In my role as Academic Dean, one of my initial areas of focus will be on assisting President Aucoin and the FBS team to continue to progress from ABHE Candidate status to becoming an ABHE accredited school.”

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Kellemen as the newest member of the Faith Bible Seminary leadership team. If you’re interested in learning more about our M.Div. program, please visit our site here. If you’d like to learn more about our online MA in Biblical Counseling, please visit our site here.
